Find Out More About Our Services

Vaccines

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that all people age 65 and older, and any younger person with high-risk conditions, receive the influenza vaccine before being discharged from the hospital. Please ask your nurse about receiving the flu vaccine, which is available in this hospital between September 1 and April 2. The flu vaccine is paid for by Medicare. The CDC also recommends that the same group of people receive the vaccine to prevent pneumonia before leaving the hospital. This vaccine is available year round and also paid for by Medicare. In addition, the COVID-19 vaccine can help protect you from the virus and stop community spread. If you have questions, talk to your doctor.

Deaf Health Services

The Deaf Health Services Department is a dedicated team of certified sign language interpreters focused on caring for deaf, deaf-blind and hard-of-hearing patients and families. A variety of interpretation services are available, including in-person and utilizing virtual technology. For more information, please speak with your nurse and/or a member of your care team.

A portable TTY instrument and telephone voice amplifier is available for all deaf and hard-of-hearing patients. Please speak with your nurse and/or a member of your care team to arrange for one of these devices. Closed-captioned television for the hearing impaired may be activated by pressing the C.C. button on your television remote. A video translator device is available in hospital phones.
