ATMs

There is one ATM on the ground floor by the Monti cafeteria, two ATMs on the first floor, one ATM in the parking garage and one outside of the Bistro.

Location: Ground floor of the Monti Pavilion


Weekday Hours:

  • Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Hot Food: 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

*The café does not close between breakfast and lunch. You can still purchase grab-and-go items.

  • Lunch: 11:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Deli: 11:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Pizzeria: 11:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

*The café does not close between lunch and dinner. You can still purchase grab-and-go items.

  • Dinner: 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Pizzeria: 5:00 p.m. to to 8:30 p.m.

  • Hot Food: 11:15 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.


Weekend and Holiday Hours:

  • Breakfast: 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Bistro North

You may also purchase food items and drinks at Bistro North, located in the main lobby. Bistro North is open 24 hours Monday through Friday, and from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.


Chaplaincy

Professional chaplains are available to provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families for people of all faiths. Chaplains are in the hospital Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To request a visit from a chaplain, please ask your nurse to contact the office, or call (516) 562-4013. After hours, leave a message or ask a staff member to call the chaplain on call.


Fire Safety

NSUH maintains a fire-safe environment to protect its patients, visitors and staff. Fire drills are held six times per quarter. We kindly ask that you and your visitors stay in your room until you hear the overhead announcement that the drill is complete.


The Gift Shop

Hours:

  • Monday through Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Weekends: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.


The Gift Shop offers an array of snacks, baby gifts, spa and beauty products, travel essentials, books, flowers, balloons and much more. All proceeds from the Gift Shop support the hospital auxiliary, which provides funding to support the expansion of our hospital and programs benefiting patients, families and caregivers. Language and Communication Access Services (LCAS)

NSUH provides access to Language and Communication Services for individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP) or for individuals who prefer to have their health information provided in a language other than English.

 

We also offer sign language interpretation services for individuals who are Deaf or Hard-of-hearing, as well as services or aids for individuals with diverse communication needs. Site language assistance coordinators provide support and ensure our patients’ unique communication needs are met. For more information, please contact NSUHPatientExperience@northwell.edu.


Leave Your Valuables at Home

Please leave all of your valuables home. If you would like to keep your valuables with you, they can stay with you in your room or be placed in the hospital’s safe. Please contact the nurse manager on your unit for more information about using the hospital’s safe.


Lost and Found

The hospital’s Lost and Found is maintained by the Security Department, which is located in the main lobby of the Monti Pavilion. For lost and found items, call Security at (516) 562-8444.


Mail

Regular mail is delivered to your room by volunteers on a daily basis and is forwarded to your home after discharge. Packages are delivered to your room as soon as possible.


Meal Service

Patient Meals

Call ext. 3463 (DINE) between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. to place orders for delivery or to preorder for upcoming meals. There are two dining options based on hospital unit:



  • Room Service: You will receive a menu based on prescribed dietary needs. You can call for delivery within 60 minutes.
  • In-Room Dining: Meal delivery is based on your unit’s schedule. If you don’t call to order, you will receive the Daily Chef’s Special.


Ordering Times:

  • Breakfast 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.


Snacks and beverages are also available upon request.


Newspapers

Newspapers are available for purchase daily by calling the gift shop at (516) 562-4658 during their business hours. For newspapers, please pay with cash.


Parking Garage/Valet Parking

Visitor parking is available in the Visitor Garage located directly across from the hospital’s main entrance circle. A complimentary valet parking service for handicapped patients and visitors is located at the hospital’s main entrance.


If your stay exceeds 14 days, long-term access cards for emergency contacts can be obtained from the inpatient Cashier’s Office located on the first floor of the Monti building. If you’re the parents of an infant in the NICU, please ask for a complimentary parking coupon on the unit.


Patient- and Family-Centered Care (PFCC)

Patient- and Family- Centered Care creates partnerships between providers, patients and families to promote positive health outcomes and facilitate a healthcare experience that is patient and family centric. The goal of PFCC is to create an optimal and personalized experience for our patients and family. If you have any concerns or would like to learn more about services available within the hospital, please contact PFCC at (516) 562-4772.


Private Duty Care

You can choose to supplement the staff at the hospital with your own private duty care. Northwell Health Staffing Services can provide registered nurses and certified nurse assistants for one-on-one care dedicated exclusively to your recovery. Our private duty specialists are available 24/7 to meet your personal needs. Call (866) 831-2206.


Rapid Response Team

If a patient or visitor needs emergency help, please dial 6688 and tell the operator you need the Rapid Response Team in Room # _____. Then notify the nurse that you have called the Rapid Response Team.


Smoking

NSUH is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is not allowed in the hospital or any area outside the hospital, including the parking lots. This includes electronic cigarettes. The Center for Tobacco Control offers free stop-smoking programs. Please ask a staff member for a brochure or call (516) 466-1980 for more information. TV

NSUH offers pCare on all TVs, offering on-demand education and relaxation to help create a healing environment, allowing patients and their families to learn more about the hospital, their health and how they can help with their care plan.


Your Room

NSUH offers private and semiprivate rooms. To change the position of your bed, use the remote control device or call your nurse for assistance. Your room’s temperature may be controlled by the unit located below the window. Please do not get out of bed by yourself or leave your room unless you have your doctor’s permission.


The bathroom in your room is for patient use only. An emergency call chain is present if you need help. There is a visitor bathroom in the hallway.
